Plexr Soft Surgery
Plexr (short for Plasma Exeresis) is a revolutionary, non-invasive device launched in the UK in 2014. Plexr now offers an alternative approach to procedures that were only possible in a surgical environment. Surgical aesthetics can carry significant risks as it is highly invasive and can be vulnerable to pre and post-operative complications caused by the need for anaesthesia, surgical resection, sutures and lengthy post-operative recovery periods in hospital. With Plexr, the need for surgical intervention is removed, giving our patients across Bexley, Bexleyheath, Greenhithe, Tunbridge Wells, West Malling, Gravesend and the surrounding area a highly effective alternative to surgical options for a variety of skin conditions.
Plexr Soft Surgery works by using a small, target area with a tip that forms plasma using the natural gases and electrical charges in the air. This creates a tiny electrical arc that can precisely treat various problem areas, without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding skin. Plasma has been used for many years in the fields of medicine and aesthetics, and is a rapidly developing field of treatment. When the plasma is applied to the skin, the skin fibres contract and tighten, causing the skin to smooth and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Similar to a tiny bolt of lightning, the treatment actually vaporises skin cells in the targeted area, leaving a carbon crust which heals after a few days, and removing pigmented skin, scar tissue and other imperfections.
As the Plexr device never actually touches the skin, only the tiny plasma arc, the risk of infection during treatment is significantly reduced, compared to surgical methods. The use of plasma also means that the area is instantly cauterised during treatment, further improving patient safety.
The results of Plexr Soft Surgery are permanent, though if used to treat fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of ageing, the skin will continue to age normally after treatment. However, the results will last for years, and can be repeated to maintain anti-ageing benefits. If used for the treatment of moles, acne, scars, skin tags and tattoo removal, the results of Plexr treatment are completely permanent.

The consultation process gives Dr. Shirin the opportunity to get to know you, and your lifestyle and goals, to make sure that Plexr treatment is right for you, and that you receive the highest and most effective level of care with us. During the consultation, Dr. Shirin will go through the treatment process with you, and make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision about your treatment. As a former UK trainer for Plexr procedures, Dr. Shirin understands this treatment inside and out, to make sure you’re getting the best possible results from your treatment. The consultation process also gives you the opportunity to see our state-of-the-art clinic and meet our team, to make sure you’re happy and comfortable with Elite Aesthetics as your aesthetic practitioner.
Depending on the type of Plexr treatment you are having, treatment time is usually between 60 and 90 minutes. During the treatment, Dr. Shirin will apply local anaesthetic to the area, and then will use the Plexr device to apply plasma to the targeted area.
After Plexr treatment, a tiny brown carbon crust will appear, that looks similar to very small scabs. It is important not to pick or scratch at these crusts, and they will fall off on their own in around five days. You will also be given a tailored skincare routine and products to give you optimum results in the week after treatment.

During her time in the NHS, she received training in both medicine and general surgery, as well as spending time specialising in anesthesiology, aesthetic medicine and minor surgery and working as a GP for several years. Despite no longer practicing within the NHS, Dr. Shirin is still fully registered with the GMC (GMC number 4634863), and follows their standards of Good Medical Practice, to ensure the comfort and safety of all her clients.
As part of this commitment to ethical practice, we make a point of never offering, overselling or performing a treatment that is not in a client’s best interests. If a client were to request a treatment Dr. Shirin didn’t think was necessary, she could not in good conscience carry this out, and would instead work with them to find the most medically appropriate alternative.
