Fat Freezing is a breakthrough, non-surgical fat reduction and body shaping treatment that’s becoming increasingly popular with stars including Colleen Rooney, Amy Childs, Patsy Kensit, and Danielle Armstrong.
Also known as Cryolipolysis, Fat Freezing uses cold temperatures to destroy unwanted fat cells, allowing you to sculpt your body and reduce fat in hard-to-shift areas.
Unlike traditional surgical liposuction, fat freezing is non-invasive, doesn’t have any need for general anaesthetic, needs no long recovery times and doesn’t pose any of the other risks associated with surgical aesthetics.

Fat Freezing is a highly effective non-surgical fat reduction treatment that’s pain-free, non-invasive and shown to have incredible results. It removes unwanted fat cells, allowing you to get rid of stubborn pockets of body fat and smooth and sculpt your figure. Making it an excellent alternative to traditional liposuction.
Fat Freezing can help you with:
Your body stores fat in fat cells located in various parts of your body. Some people naturally have more fat cells than others and the number of fat cells you carry tends not to change, even when you lose weight. This can make it incredibly hard for some people to achieve a smooth, toned figure through just diet and exercise alone.
What usually happens when you diet or exercise is that the fat cells get emptied, leading to a reduction in volume – but they are still there ready to fill back up and creating that stubborn pocket of extra weight that just won’t seem to shift.
Fat Freezing destroys the fat cells, which prompts your body to remove them through your natural waste clearance systems. This leaves you with fewer fat cells and a smoother, firmer figure.
The way Fat Freezing works is wonderfully simple.
Using a specialist 3D Lipo device, we reduce the temperature down to the point at which the fat cells can no longer survive (around -6 degrees). This causes the fat cells to crystallise and disperse, leading to a permanent reduction in the number of fat cells in the area.
In the days and weeks after treatment, the destroyed cells are removed by the body’s natural processes, leaving you with a smooth, toned and sculpted appearance.
Because fat cells die at warmer temperatures than the rest of the body’s cells, including skin, muscles and vital organs, we can permanently reduce the number of fat cells in your body without causing damage to any other cells.

If you want to book a Fat Freezing treatment the first step is to have a consultation. A member of our professional and knowledgeable aestheticians will talk you through everything and ensure you’re a good candidate for the treatment.
They’ll listen to any concerns you have, answer your questions and make sure that Fat Freezing is the right treatment to deliver the results you want to achieve.
We want you to feel comfortable and safe during your treatment here with us, and ensure that you’ll be thrilled by the results. So your consultation also gives you an opportunity to get to know us here at Elite Aesthetics and to see our professional clinic in Greenhithe, Kent.
Fat Freezing is a safe treatment, but there are some things you can do before your treatment to make sure you get the best results.
Before your treatment, avoid damaging or bruising the skin in the area that’s going to be treated – damaged skin might mean you have to postpone the procedure until it’s healed. It’s best to avoid tanning immediately before Fat Freezing too, as sun exposure can increase your skin sensitivity.
Don’t take blood thinners like aspirin and other anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Aleve, fish oil, multivitamins or vitamin E for at least a day beforehand, as they can increase the appearance of bruising after the treatment.
At the beginning of your Fat Freezing procedure, you’ll be helped to get comfortable on the bed and a gel pad will be placed on the area that you’re having treated. The 3D Lipo machine will be placed over the gel pad, with suction holding it in place.
You won’t feel any pain but you will feel coldness as the treatment begins. After a few minutes, the area will go numb and you won’t feel any discomfort for the rest of the session. During the treatment, you can relax, and many of our clients read a magazine or watch a film for the duration of the procedure as the treatments are comfortable and painless.
After the treatment is complete, the device is removed and the area is massaged using Shockwave to help aid the breakdown of the frozen cells and to encourage circulation and lymph drainage. The area will feel cold and firm straight after treatment, and you should let it come back to normal body temperature naturally.
The entire treatment takes between 30-60 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated.
After treatment, you can usually resume your usual schedule immediately – including returning to work or exercising. You will experience some numbness in the area that has been treated, however, this will resolve without any intervention. Some people get their sensation back within 2-4 hours, for others, it can take up to 24 hours.
Because your body has to clean out the destroyed fat cells naturally, the results will take a little time to start to show. Most people notice a difference within 3-4 weeks, but the best results will be visible around 8 weeks following treatment.
If you stick to a healthy diet and exercise routine – and don’t put weight back on – your results can be permanent.
If you’ve been looking at non-surgical liposuction treatments and have been typing Fat Freezing into Google then you’ve probably come across both “Coolsculpting” and “3D Lipo”. Both use Fat Freezing technology to tackle stubborn fat pockets.
Coolsculpting treatment times can be quite lengthy as it only has one applicator, which results in double the treatment time compared to 3D Lipo.
3D Lipo uses a combination of technologies which lead to better results when compared to Coolsculpting’s single Fat Freeze Technology:
Coolscuplting cannot treat cellulite or loose skin. Costs for Coolsculpting can be up to double that of 3D Lipo, primarily because CoolSculpting is supposed to be a Doctor led treatment, however in reality, the doctor will usually have a therapist deliver the treatment.
You might start to see some results after 2-4 weeks, but the full results will be seen after 8-12 weeks after your body has had time to naturally clear out the dead fat cells.
You will feel cold in the area and some patients report feeling a tugging sensation as the tissue is placed into the vacuum. However, the cold temperatures numb the area and most patients report feeling very comfortable during the treatment.
Once the fat cells are dead and removed, they are gone forever. However, if you gain weight again then your body can create new fat cells in the area that you had treated. A good diet and exercise should help prevent this from happening.
Fat Freezing is an FDA approved treatment that has been shown to be very safe.
There’s no general anaesthetic, no surgery and no incisions required, so there’s no risk of any of the complications that these can cause.
You might experience some bruising and redness following the Fat Freezing treatment, but this should resolve in a few days.
Very rarely people can experience “freeze burns” but this usually occurs when the practitioner performing the treatment is untrained or inexperienced. By choosing a reputable, professional and experienced clinic like Elite Aesthetics, you can reduce the risk of this happening.

Fat Freezing technology can be used to permanently remove the fat cells from common areas that cause concern, such as:
When used in these localised areas, fat freezing reduces the number of fat cells, leading to a contoured and toned appearance.
Fat freezing is a non-surgical and non-invasive process that works to effectively reduce fat and sculpt the body. It carries none of the risks of surgical liposuction as it requires no anaesthetic and is non-invasive, so there is no risk of infection. It also has no downtime, so you don’t have to take recovery time out of your busy schedule. Treatments are quick, simple and painless, making it one of the easiest bodysculpting procedures available.
At Elite Aesthetics, we use 3D Lipo technology to carry out our fat freezing treatments. Similar to CoolSculpting, one of the most common forms of cryolipolysis treatment, 3D Lipo is our fat freezing equipment of choice at Elite Aesthetics. 3D Lipo is a device developed in the UK to provide an ‘all in one’ treatment for fat pockets and other similar concerns. Using the 3D Lipo device, fat freezing can be performed as part of a 3D Lipo treatment course, or as an independent treatment, depending on your concerns and aims. We prefer 3D Lipo as it allows us to help create a more personalised treatment plan than a CoolSculpting device, which isn’t as flexible and can’t be tailored to your personal needs.
The fat freezing process with 3D Lipo and CoolSculpting is very similar, and both have similar treatment processes and side effects. However, 3D Lipo devices have two applicators, meaning that more than one area can be treated at the same time. This is especially useful for areas like the hips and thighs, where you want both areas treated simultaneously, and helps cut down on treatment time compared to CoolSculpting, which can only treat one area at a time. For example, a 3D Lipo treatment that takes an hour to carry out would usually take two hours with CoolSculpting technology. 3D Lipo is also a considerably more affordable treatment, and generally has more consistent results than CoolSculpting treatment options.

Yes, Fat Freezing works by causing the fat cells to permanently die. You read more about it here:
cosmopolitan does fat freezing actually work
Unfortunately no, it will not treat cellulite.
Fat Freezing procedures are not suitable for treating cellulite. There is no clinical evidence to show that Fat Freezing reduces cellulite. However there are other treatments available to treat cellulite.
Results can be seen as soon as three weeks, with maximum benefit seen at approximately three months. Average reduction in fat ranges from up to 25% per round of treatment, and there is no evidence of any body-wide side effects.
Cryolipolysis is a noninvasive cosmetic procedure that eliminates excess fat by freezing it. But a complication called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) — a hardened area of localized fat developing after cryolipolysis. However, our therapists have over 5 years experience in using Fat Freezing Technology and we only use 3D Lipo equipment, which has shown to be safe in our experience.
There are so many Fat Freezing techonologies available. Whilst some are better or different than others, the key is to ensure that the clinic conducting your treatment has plenty of experience in using their machine. At Elite Aesthetics we have only ever used 3D Lipo techonology as it has been safe in our experience and the patients are happy with their results.
Cryolipolysis, commonly referred to as fat freezing, is a nonsurgical fat reduction procedure that uses cold temperature to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body. The procedure is designed to reduce localized fat deposits or bulges that do not respond to diet and exercise.

If done safely by a professional, fat freezing can indeed help you lose fat. However, as with many cosmetic treatments, results can vary from person to person, and it may take a few weeks or even months to notice.
Elite Aesthetics offers Fat Freezing at Greenhithe in Kent. Clients travel from London and across England to ensure they receive the best care and results as offered by us.
Abolutely under no circumstances should you attempt Fat freezing using ice packs. Please ensure you have your treatment at a professional aesthetics clinic.
We do offer Fat Freezing combined with Cavitation for optimal results.
In most cases, a combination of all the technologies within 3D Lipo are used. This will enhance the overall results of your body shaping treatment plan.
This may include combining Fat Freezing for pockets of fat, with Ultrasound Cavitation for overall inch loss and Radio Frequency to tighten the skin. This is by far our most popular treatment at Elite Aesthetics.
Abolutely under no circumstances should you attempt Fat freezing using ice packs. Please ensure you have your treatment at a professional aesthetics clinic.
Fat Freezing for double chin is one of our most popular treatments. It can be done in a single session and results appear a few weeks after treatment. Below is our lovely patient Sam’s results.
Fat freezing should not be used to loose weight. It’s primarily a treatment for to help with subborn areas of fat that cannot be resolved through exercise and diet.
3D Lipo is a fat reduction procedure, which means that it actually reduces the number of fat cells from the body, not the size. Through our 3d Lipo fat-freezing procedure, you will see a reduction of fat cells in the specific areas you are looking to treat by 20-25%.
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments performed in the UK, procedures ranging between £2000 and £6000, which can be difficult for many to afford. It is also an invasive treatment requiring downtime and recovery. Results are dependent upon the surgeon.
Fat freezing is much more cost effective, for example a chin treatment is just £300, larger areas will cost more. There is no down time and the results are consistent provided you go to an experienced clinic.
Skin Tightening is the perfect solution to tighten loose, sagging skin on tummies, arms and thighs, our tri-polar radio frequency technology is highly effective at restoring elasticity and lift.
Commonly after weight loss or childbirth, sagging skin can become a problem on many areas of the body, that even diet and exercise cannot treat. Our Radio Frequency treatment feels pleasantly warm and comfortable, giving an immediate lift and progressive results with a course.
Fat freezing may leave loose skin, which can then be tightened using 3D Lipo technology.
At Elite Aesthetics, we always carry out a full consultation process with our clients before any treatment. Our senior aesthetician, Charlotte Thomas, carries out all of our fat freezing treatments at our purpose-built clinic in peaceful Greenhithe, Kent. The consultation process allows Charlotte to determine whether fat freezing treatment is right for you, and how to make sure you get the results you want. We will also take photos to help show you your progress and results during your consultation. Charlotte is loved by her client base for really getting to know each and every one of her clients, and putting together personalised treatment plans that are perfect for them. During your consultation, you also have the opportunity to get to know us and see our clinic, as well as to ask any questions or raise any concerns you have about your treatment. Our knowledgeable staff are happy to work with you to make sure you get the perfect treatment for you.
Charlotte has been using 3D Lipo for fat freezing treatment for over seven years, with consistently high-quality results, making her one of the most experienced practitioners in the area.
During your fat freezing treatment, Charlotte will mark the areas the treatment will take place, as well as placing a protective gel membrane down to act as a barrier between the device and your skin, and make sure your skin and other tissues aren’t affected by the treatment. The 3D Lipo device is then applied, and vacuums the skin and fatty tissue in the area into an applicator that surrounds the tissue and cools the fat cells. You will feel cold in the area and some patients report feeling a tugging sensation as the tissue is placed into the vacuum. However, the cold temperatures numb the area, and most patients report feeling very comfortable during the treatment.
During the treatment, you can relax, and many of our clients read a magazine or watch a film for the duration of the procedure. The treatments are comfortable and painless.
After the treatment is complete, the device is removed and the area is massaged to help aid the breakdown of the frozen cells. The area will feel cold and firm straight after treatment, and you should let it come back to normal body temperature naturally.
You can get back to your day straight away after fat freezing treatment, as it is a non-invasive procedure with no downtime. Over the next few weeks and months, as the body removes the frozen cells, the results of the procedure will improve, with optimum results being seen at around eight to twelve weeks after treatment.
The results of 3D Lipo can be permanent, as the fat cells don’t repopulate, however, the remaining fat cells will still work normally, growing and shrinking as your weight fluctuates. In order to see permanent results, fat freezing should be combined with a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise.
