Plexr Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty (Eye Lid Lift)
Plexr plasma treatment, also known as Plexr Soft Surgery or Plexr non surgical Blepharoplasty, is a revolutionary innovation in the field of aesthetic medicine and surgery. Plexr (short for Plasma Exeresis) offers an exciting alternative approach to surgical blepharoplasty, which is highly invasive, comes with many pre and postoperative complications and can involve long periods spent in recovery. Plexr is a safe and simple treatment, which involves no anaesthesia, no scalpels and provides outstanding results, which traditionally you could only expect to see after eyelid surgery. Plexr also carries no major risks and has a very quick recovery period for an eyelid lift without surgery.
The Plexr Soft Surgery device is fully licensed in the EU. It consists of an ergonomic handpiece used by your practitioner, with small single use tips, ensuring the device is always clean and hygienic. The Plexr device is ideal for small, delicate areas such as the eyelids, but can also be used as a skin tightening method on other areas of the body, as well as to treat a variety of skin conditions, including active acne, acne scars skin tags and moles.
Plasma is a fantastic and relatively new development within aesthetic medicine, as it can be used in incredibly precise and targeted treatments, however it has been used in other healthcare fields for many years. Plasma is a substance that is halfway between a liquid and a gas, and is used to directly target tiny areas of tissue on the eyelids during Plexr plasma treatment. Plexr’s high level of precision makes it perfect for use on small, delicate areas like the eyelids. The Plexr non-surgical blepharoplasty treatment works by forming plasma in the space between the tip of the device and the skin. This tiny arc of plasma triggers a process called sublimation – the process of turning a solid straight into a gas – which causes the fibres of the skin to shrink, contract and tighten. This tightening of the fibres actually lessens the surface area of the skin, creating an improvement in the appearance of drooping or sagging skin on the eyelids. Because of the precise nature of Plexr, and the use of plasma, heat is very accurately directed, and doesn’t transfer to the surrounding tissues, making it a safe and comfortable treatment.
The results of Plexr plasma treatment are instant, and the resultant tissue retraction and tightening (as opposed to removal) gives results that are comparable to the ones seen with invasive surgery, without any of the risk of infection, anaesthesia, scalpels or downtime traditional blepharoplasty carries. Plexr Soft Surgery can be used for a variety of skin tightening treatments, as well as treatment of skin conditions such as skin tags and moles, but its precise nature makes it ideal for use in non-surgical blepharoplasty treatments.
As we age, the skin on our face and body loses some of its elasticity, due to a slowing of natural collagen production. This can affect all areas of the body, including the eyes, where people find their skin may loosen or start to sag, contributing to a tired, aged appearance that doesn’t reflect how you feel on the inside. For milder cases, anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers may also be recommended. However for more advanced cases, Plexr offers the most long lasting, dramatic results, which for a long time would only have been available through traditional blepharoplasty surgery.
You may be a candidate for Plexr plasma treatment if you find you have loose skin around your upper and lower eyelids, or have struggled with the appearance of hooded eyelids for a long time.

Plexr is long-lasting, effective and easy. There is no general anaesthetic required, and results can be seen instantly, with no downtime. There is very little risk of infection or allergic reaction, and the treatments take less than an hour to carry out.
An article in the PFMA Journal surveyed 1000 non-surgical blepharoplasty patients and found that 80% of patients received 100% of the desired result from their treatment within three sessions, and the remaining 20% received 100% of their desired results within one or two sessions, showing the effectiveness of the treatment. As with surgery, effects are permanent but further treatment may be needed after 3-5 years due to the natural ageing process.
At Elite Aesthetics, we precede all of our treatments, including Plexr Soft Surgery, with a full consultation. All of our Plexr treatments are carried out by our practice leader Dr. Shirin Lakhani, a highly-experienced aesthetic doctor. Dr. Shirin will use your consultation to really get to know you and understand what it is you want from your treatment at Elite Aesthetics.
Before your Plexr plasma treatment, Dr. Shirin will apply a local anaesthetic cream for 30 minutes to minimise any discomfort, meaning that the procedure is virtually painless. For other areas in the body, local anaesthetic cream or injections may also be used to improve comfort.
During treatment, the Plexr device is held 1-2mm from the skin and the plasma is applied in short bursts in small individual areas. This means that the skin has space to contract and shrink, ensuring the skin’s healthy recovery process. The process isn’t painful, though some of our clients report the treatment feeling hot in places, and you may experience a tingling sensation afterwards. Each treatment session usually lasts between 30 and 40 minutes. We recommend up to three sessions, or until you see optimum results, which will depend on your skin’s level of laxity, Dr. Shirin’s expert opinion and the results you want to see.
Dr. Shirin will go over what to expect from your treatment and the aftercare process in your consultation, and is always happy to advise you on any part of the aftercare process. Following Plexr plasma treatment, tiny dark brown or black crusts may appear in areas the plasma has been ‘sprayed’ during treatment. It is important to keep these areas clean, dry and protected after treatment. These markings will usually start to flake off within a few days and fully heal within 2 weeks.
Swelling is common after plasma treatment, and will usually resolve quickly, though if it is uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken. Cold compresses and antihistamines may also be applied to reduce swelling.
After treatment we advise keeping the treated area clean, dry and protected using a broad spectrum sunscreen. Avoid exposing the area to extremes of heat or cold, applying plasters or occlusive dressings and using alcohol based or fragranced cleansers until it has healed. Your final results will depend on the level of the skin laxity around your eyes, your desired results, the general condition of the skin and any pre-existing skin or medical problems, however a reduction in the appearance of skin folds and creases is visible immediately after treatment. As the treated skin is sublimated during treatment, the results often last years.
