Following a detailed consultation, which takes full account of your medical history, your concerns and what you want to see from your treatment. Dr. Shirin will discuss with you which treatments are best suited for you, your lifestyle and the results you want to achieve. These options could include wrinkle relaxing injections using market leading brands such as Botox® and Azzalure®.
Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to treat a variety of areas on the face to relax muscles, helping to stop wrinkles forming, as well as smoothing out lines that are already present on the face. It is often used on the upper part of the face such as the forehead, to treat frown lines, crow’s feet and bunny lines (lines that appear on the bridge of the nose when you sniff or sneeze), but can also treat areas in the lower face. These include the chin, to smooth out the jawline and prevent dimpling, and the neck, to improve the appearance of loose skin around the neck. Smoker’s lines (vertical lines that appear around the top lip), marionette lines (lines that reach from the corners of the mouth down towards the chin, giving the mouth a drooping or downturned effect) and milder nasolabial folds (smile lines) can also be treated.
They can be used for non-surgical face-slimming procedures, providing a more defined visage. They can also be used to turn up the tip of the nose, prevent the appearance of sagging skin, and are recognised as a treatment to improve the appearance of a gummy smile.
Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat excessive sweating (known as hyperhidrosis) in the armpits, forehead, palms of the hands and soles of the feet.
Anti-wrinkle injections usually last from around three to six months, though this will vary from person to person. Repeated treatments will increase the amount of time needed between treatments as the muscles become used to the effects of treatment.
Anti-wrinkle injection treatments can be carried out as many times as you like, and repeated treatments will actually ‘train’ the skin, not just to remove any existing fine lines and wrinkles, but also to prevent new lines from appearing. We generally recommend treatments between every three to six months, depending on how quickly your body breaks down the active ingredient in the injection, which varies between every patient. We also offer complimentary top-up treatments two weeks after your first treatment to ensure your results are exactly right and that you’re getting the perfect treatment that gives you the confidence boost you need to feel amazing in your own skin.
Anti-wrinkle injections are an injectable treatment so there is some discomfort during treatment for many people. At Elite Aesthetics we use numbing cream if required to reduce pain and ensure you have the most comfortable treatment possible. If a patient were to request a procedure during their consultation that Dr. Shirin feels would not be the most beneficial course of action, we would not carry this out, and would instead work closely with them to create a more medically appropriate treatment plan.
After your procedure, you should avoid lying down for the first few hours, and not touch the treated areas or partake in strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after treatment. There is no downtime after an anti-wrinkle procedure, and you can get back to your day right away. The results of your treatment will improve gradually over the next 7-10 days, and will last for 3 – 6 months, after which time we recommend another treatment to maintain your results.
