When injected, the treatment destabilises your fat cells by destroying the fat cell membranes. This causes them to liquefy, where they are removed by your lymphatic system.

Fat dissolving injections work best on small areas that ‘hold on’ to pockets of fat. The most successfully treated areas include;

• Chin
  Excess fat under your chin can change the appearance of your whole face. Often called a ‘double chin’ the fat that collects here can be very hard to lose, even with diet and exercise.

• Abdomen
  Many people carry a little additional padding around their middle. The fat can collect in a ‘pouch’ that makes fitting in your clothes uncomfortable and can hinder your exercise effort.

Are Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections Safe?

What Can I Expect From The Procedure?

The procedure is very simple; following your consultation, you will visit the clinic for your fat dissolving injections. The Aqualyx is administered alongside an anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort, as the solution is injected fairly deeply into the fat pocket. Depending on the size of the area you’re treating, your appointment should take between 30 minutes to an hour (Aqualyx has been called the ‘lunchtime lipo’!).

You may experience a little sensitivity and redness at the injection site, but this will pass in a couple of hours. In the days after your treatment, you will find that the area will swell a little – this is an important part of the fat dissolving process. The fat cells are being broken down, and your body responds by sending white blood cells to get rid of the debris. This should last a couple of days, and as that subsides you will start to see your new, more contoured figure. 

How Much Do Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections Cost?

Aqualyx is a very affordable treatment, particularly when you consider the outcome is the same as liposuction – and that can cost up to £6000! Fat dissolving injections are often given over a course of treatment, so the cost does depend on how many sessions you have. As a guide, a single treatment of Aqualyx usually costs £350, with a course of 3 sessions usually being optimal.

How Long Do Results Last?

The fat cells are permanently removed, but it’s important to note that these cells can regenerate if a regime of good diet and exercise isn’t followed.
