The Lichen Sclerosus Treatment With Surprising Benefits
Are you looking for a painless and effective Lichen Sclerosus treatment? Well, at Elite Aesthetics, we have a non-invasive solution that also provides some surprising benefits.
Read on to find out more…
What is Lichen Sclerosus?
Lichen Sclerosus (LS) is a skin condition that affects the skin of the genitals. It appears as white spots and results in itching, burning pain, and scarring. It affects both men and women but is more common in women.
Your skin has several layers, and if you suffer from Lichen Sclerosus, the outer layer (the epidermis) becomes very thin, resulting in inflammatory cells invading the next layer of skin (the dermis).
The dermis contains blood vessels, nerve endings, and hair roots, and when it becomes inflamed, it causes painful swelling and broken blood vessels.
There is no known cause for Lichen Sclerosus, but an overactive immune system usually plays a role. In some cases, it may even be caused by an old skin injury.
Hormone imbalances such as increased or decreased oestrogen levels can contribute to it, as does past skin damage.
It’s not contagious, but some experts believe certain gene types might have a bearing.
Traditional Lichen Sclerosus Treatment
A typical Lichen Sclerosus treatment is over-the-counter vaginal creams commonly used to treat thrush. These creams, however, don’t help resolve the issue.
Lichen Sclerosus treatment is often broken down into 3 key areas: prescribed medicines, natural remedies, and surgical intervention.
Prescribed Medication
Steroid Creams
They reduce pain, itching and inflammation. However, when used regularly, your body can build up immunity to the creams and they become less effective.
Steroid Injections
Steroid injections are an effective Lichen Sclerosus treatment, especially if you suffer from severe LS.
Topical Calcineurin Inhibitors Tacrolimus Ointment
Calcineurin inhibitors are reliable at treating various inflammatory skin diseases, including Lichen Sclerosus.
Topical Retinoid
Tretinoin cream may be applied to sites affected by Lichen Sclerosus. It reduces scaling and dryness but is not well tolerated on genital skin.
Natural Remedies
Ultraviolet Light
UV-A1 phototherapy increases collagenase activity and suppresses collagen synthesis, resulting in a softening of former sclerotic skin lesions
Herbs
Herbs, including chickweed and calendula, reduce itching, pain and skin inflammation. They can also help to reduce scarring and improve the healing of lesions in the area.
Diet
Increasing probiotics can help reduce itching and alleviate pain. Combining this with an anti-inflammatory diet low in caffeine, alcohol and processed foods will help to reduce the production of inflammatory cytokines, which produce skin lesions.
Surgery
In some cases, LS symptoms can become so extreme that surgery is required to remove excess skin from your genitals. The aim is to encourage your skin to heal back stronger.
Surgery can be very effective but doesn’t stop Lichen Sclerosus indefinitely.
There is however a revolutionary non-invasive treatment that is very effective when used as a Lichen Sclerosus treatment.
Revolutionary Lichen Sclerosus Treatment
The O Shot is a non-invasive treatment that helps men and women break free from this debilitating condition. Many LS sufferers have benefited the most from this treatment.
When PRP is used in an intimate area, it is referred to as the O-Shot for women, and the P-Shot for men.
They are both non-surgical treatments designed to rejuvenate the penis and the vagina. Both are proven to improve the symptoms of Lichen Sclerosus as PRP injections speed up the healing process and reduce inflammation of the tissues affected by Lichen Sclerosus.
By helping to heal the damaged tissue, PRP can provide significant relief from Lichen Sclerosus symptoms. Platelet-rich plasma uses the incredible healing ability of your immune system to heal another area.
At Elite Aesthetics, we use a specific FDA-approved centrifuge to give the best possible results – and we’re the only clinic in the UK to use this centrifuge for both the O-Shot and the P-Shot.
PRP contains essential cell-regenerating growth factors that are needed for effective treatment.
The Surprising Benefits Of The P-Shot & The O-Shot
PRP injections alleviate symptoms of Lichen Sclerosus, including the debilitating pain that LS patients suffer from during and after sex due to dryness or scarring.
As well as providing soothing alleviation, it also has some surprising benefits, such as:
- Increased natural lubrication for women
- Improved appearance of the labia
- Alleviation from stress incontinence
- Enhanced arousal
- Stronger and more frequent orgasms
Perhaps the most surprising benefit is the increased sexual pleasure that patients experience after receiving the O-Shot & P-Shot as a Lichen Sclerosus treatment.
Many people suffering from LS find that sex can be very painful. A treatment that not only improves symptoms day to day but also improves sexual pleasure can improve relationships and mental well-being significantly.
Hear From One Of Our Patients…
At Elite Aesthetics, we’ve been using PRP as a successful Lichen Sclerosus treatment for many years. We have several positive case studies, and you can read Sam’s full story on our website.
After suffering from LS for 30 years and trying out several different Lichen Sclerosus treatment options with little success, Sam began looking for an alternative solution. That’s when she found out about the O-Shot.
Since getting the treatment, Sam’s mental health has improved significantly. She’s found day-to-day life much easier, and her relationship has gone from strength to strength too.
The O-Shot does more than provide relief from Lichen Sclerosus. The treatment offers a reliable alternative to strong medication like steroids. This is good news for patients like Sam, who have built up an immunity to them.
