Penis Size and Penis Enlargement
Does penis size matter?
The fact that this topic has sparked such heated debate is a first indicator that penis size does important. From a medical standpoint, this is a multi-faceted problem because penis size is important for a variety of reasons:
Penis size and penetration
Leaving aside the issue of sexual satisfaction for the time being, enough penile length is required for a man to successfully penetrate his partner. The great majority of men without erectile problems have sufficient penile length to achieve penetration. A whole penile reconstruction may be the only choice for a very tiny fraction of males suffering from micro-phallia, i.e. a penis that is not long enough to easily penetrate a partner.
Penis size and sexual stimulation
Because the sexual anatomy includes both the anatomical qualities of the penis and those of the vagina, some penises may be too tiny and incapable of creating good sensations for their female partner, despite sufficient erection strength.
Given that the majority of female anatomical nerves, whose stimulation results in sexual arousal and orgasm, are located in the clitoris and the outer one-third of the vagina, especially near the opening for most women, the penis girth (90% of women, according to a recent study), which is required to achieve a sense of fullness and sufficient stimulation of the clitoris and vaginal nerves, is most important.
It is crucial to note that each woman’s anatomy is unique, and while penis length may be very significant to some women in order to reach orgasm, statistical study indicates that they are in the minority.
The attractiveness of men and the size of their penis
A man’s total attractiveness is determined by a variety of elements such as appearance, social status, and intellect. Although it is difficult to design studies to determine whether penis size is one of the factors that affect men’s attractiveness, common sense and growing scientific evidence suggest that women find men with long flaccid penises more attractive than men with shorter penises. There have been no research on erect penises, but considering that erect penis size is more closely connected with sexual stimulation of the vagina and clitoris, it can be assumed that male attractiveness is more affected by erect penis girth rather than length. These are, of course, broad generalizations, and we are conducting additional research in this understudied field.
Penis size and self-perception
According to one recent study, 45% of males were disappointed with the size of their penis. To put this into context, the percentage of males who are unhappy with their height and weight has been estimated to be less than 40%. This study also discovered that males who are unhappy with their penis size are less confident and less content with their body and face. This study’s findings imply that penis size can influence men’s overall perception of themselves, with those with larger penises feeling more confident. Our doctor’s experiences throughout the years have mainly validated this. Men who get penis enlargement surgery claim enhanced confidence in both sexual and social situations. Men who lose penile length and girth (generally as a result of radical prostatectomy or Peyronie’s disease) typically feel significant unhappiness and even sadness.
Is my penis standard size?
When determining whether to pursue penis enlargement, you should assess whether your size is a problem for you and why.
Most heterosexual guys will never view another man’s erect penis in person and will instead get input from:
Pornography: This creates an extremely skewed sense of sizes due to both the actors and the camera angles.
Places like locker rooms: where one can see other men’s flaccid penises, which is NOT a good indicator of erect penis size.
Feedback from sexual partners: Most men will have a sexual partner at some point in their lives who provides them feedback (good or negative) on their penis size and/or discusses the penis size of their past partners.
It’s worth analyzing whether your desire for a larger penis stems from a lack of understanding about the typical penis size or from feedback from a partner aiming to hurt and focusing on something viewed as vital to the masculine ego. Regardless, even in very well-organized medical surveys, defining the average penis size, which one may consider as a proxy for “normal” is extremely difficult. Based on an examination of many surveys, we’ve developed a general guide of penis size:
You are below average if your erect length is less than 5″ and your erect girth is less than 4″.
You are average if your erect length is 5-7″ and your erect girth is 4-5.5″.
You are larger than the majority of other men if your erect length exceeds 6.21″ and your erect girth exceeds 4.85″.
The values above are based on several polls and are only a rough guide for guys who are unsure about the size of their penis.
How do I properly estimate the size of my penis?
The length of the erect penis is measured.
The length of the erect penis is measured when it is completely erect. A ruler or folding metre stick is held to the penis shaft beginning at the belly and measuring the distance up to the glans tip. In contrast to the so-called “bone press” measurement, which uses high pressure on the ruler, the loose application of the measuring instrument takes into account the fat layer surrounding the penis shaft and so determines the actual usable length of the penis. As a result, the measured result may differ depending on whether you gain or lose weight.
When the penis is curved upwards, a flexible measuring tape immediately placed on the upper side of the penis may misrepresent the measured result (since a curve between two measurement places always results in a larger distance than a straight line). In order for men to accurately compare their penis lengths across different penis shapes, the shortest distance between belly and penis tip must be measured.
The length of the flaccid penis is measured.
The length of the penis in its flaccid, non-erect state varies depending on the situation. As a result, in order to measure the length of the flaccid penis, an average value must be derived through many measures (see also the notes on the measurement above and the following example).
The circumference of the erect penis is measured.
The circumference of the penis is measured on a fully erect penis. A flexible measuring tape is wrapped around the penis without strong tensile force, but flush with the penile shaft. When individuals talk about penis thickness, they usually mean penis circumference or girth.
