Can You Cure Peyronie’s Disease Without Surgery

How To Cure Peyronie's Disease Without Surgery

If you or someone you know is suffering from Peyronie’s disease, try not to worry; you are not alone. Peyronie’s affects a staggering 1 in 11 men, but even knowing these numbers, men still aren’t talking about it enough.

Many men avoid visiting the GP out of embarrassment or shame. Even those that do go might find the idea of surgery worrying – especially as there are risks, such as a shorter penis, associated with surgical procedures.

So, can you actually cure Peyronie’s Dieseae? Unfortunately, the answer is no. There is no cure for Peyronie’s Disease…but there are natural and non-invasive treatments that can reduce the symptoms and not only help you regain confidence but also avoid any cutting of sensitive areas.

What Is Peyronie’s Disease?

Peyronie’s is a condition of the penis that results from scar tissue (plaque) that develops on the penis and causes curved, painful erections, and can lead to erectile dysfunction.

All penises come in varying shapes and sizes, and a natural curve is not unusual. However, for those suffering from Peyronie’s, the bend is severe and may cause significant pain when erect.

The condition can prevent you from having sex and make it difficult to get or maintain an erection.

The cause is not yet entirely understood. However, it most commonly occurs after injury to the penis. An injury could occur from vigorous sexual activity, athletic activity or as a result of an accident.

Some of the suspected causes are:

  • Repeated injury
  • Connective tissue disorder
  • Health conditions
  • Hereditary factors
  • Age
  • Prostate surgery
  • Smoking

During the healing process after an injury, scar tissue can form in a disorganised manner. It can become painful because the area affected by the scar tissue is unable to stretch properly. The penis then bends and becomes painful when erect.

At Elite Aesthetics, many of our Peyronie’s patients get in touch asking us how to cure Peyronie’s disease without surgery. There are huge emotional and physical impacts on men suffering from this condition, and the idea of surgery can be very worrying.

As much as we would like to tell you otherwise, there is currently no known cure for Peyronie’s syndrome, surgical or not.

But that doesn’t mean you have to live with this debilitating condition.

Various non-surgical options can help to effectively manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and feel like you’ve found an effective Peyronie’s cure.

What Are The Common Peyronie’s Symptoms?

The most common symptoms of Peyronie’s are:

  • Visible bumps – Scar tissue underneath the skin can make the penis look bumpy.
  • Curved penis – The penis will have a significant bend or curve.
  • Erection problems – Either problems getting or maintaining an erection.
  • Shortening/narrowing penis – The scar formation pulls on the tissue and shortens it.
  • Pain – This can be experienced with or without an erection but is most common whilst erect.

Lifestyle Changes: A Simple Peyronie’s Cure?

As we mentioned at the beginning of this blog, there is no Peyronie’s Disease cure, but making changes could reduce the impact that PD has on your life.

You could try anti-inflammatory diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, as well as taking vitamin E supplements, all of which have shown some promise in recent studies.

Physical therapy is another lifestyle change that can help, and specific exercises could help improve flexibility and reduce pain.

Penile stretching exercises require you to use your hands or a device to increase the length or girth of your penis. It is a simple technique that you can do at home quite easily.

Manual stretching exercises involve using your hands to massage the tissue along the length of your penis. It stretches your skin and creates micro tears in the tissue, which will encourage your penis to heal straighter and sometimes will make your penis appear to look longer.

Jelqing is one stretching technique involving massaging the base of the penis in circular motions, slowly tightening the circle and applying pressure to the penis shaft. The idea is to inch closer to the penis head and repeat the cycle, reducing pressure if any pain is experienced. The theory behind it is that by stretching the penis, you’ll create tiny microtears in the tissues, stimulating the body to heal. However, there is very little evidence to support this approach as an effective method for treating Peyronie’s disease.

Penile modelling is not advised. It involves manually bending your penis in the opposite direction to its curve. These kinds of stretches can be very painful and could even worsen your Peyronie’s disease symptoms by creating more scar tissue in the penis.

How To Improve Peyronie’s Disease Without Surgery: Non-Invasive Treatments

Just because there currently is no Peyronie’s disease cure, doesn’t mean that the symptoms can’t be effectively managed with the following non-invasive treatments. You might even find that one of these options feels like you’ve found a reliable cure for Peyronie’s syndrome.

The most common non-surgical treatments are:

Medication

Oral medications, such as Xiaflex, are often prescribed to men suffering from PD. However, they are not always effective, and there are increased side effects associated with taking this type of medication.

Injections

Injections, usually collagenase clostridium histolyticum, target plaque directly and can reduce Peyronie’s symptoms and reduce curvature by an average of 35%. This injectable drug is FDA-approved and available to men suffering from PD.

Physiotherapy

Penile traction therapy devices work to gradually stretch and straighten the penis. It uses a device that consists of a plastic support ring, a silicone band, and two dynamic rods, which cradle and stretch the penis to promote penile growth. This device can be used alongside Peyronie’s disease exercises. The Phallosan Forte mentioned above is a penile traction device that we recommend to our client.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy uses high-energy sound waves to break down the scar tissue that has built up in the penis. This treatment can help to improve the curvature of the penis, reduce pain, and improve erectile function.

Vacuum Erection Device

A VED device is a plastic tube operated by a battery or an electric pump. To use a VED, you place your erect penis inside the cylinder tub, and the suction gently pulls in your penis. It can be used as an aid with PD exercises as well as general erectile dysfunction, such as getting and maintaining an erection.

P-Shot

The P-Shot uses PRP to harness the body’s healing factors to potentially reduce plaque and improve tissue function. Many patients see this treatment as the most natural, least painful, and most effective long-term treatment available, answering the question of how to cure Peyronie’s disease without surgery.

Does The P-Shot Successfully Treat Peyronie’s Disease?

This treatment boasts a high success rate. Men who previously struggled to achieve and maintain an erection due to PD reported success rates as high as 60-80%.

The results can last for up to 12 months, with some men saying that results lasted as long as 18 months.

The treatment involves minimal discomfort, is completely natural and is easy to have. The whole procedure can be completed within an hour, with most of this time spent taking your blood sample and spinning it in our centrifuge to extract the PRP.

You should expect to see results in as little as a week (but it can be a couple of weeks). You can read some of our patient success stories here.

How Long Does It Take To Cure Peyronie’s Disease?

The P-Shot (Priapus Shot) is an innovative, non-surgical treatment that can help manage Peyronie’s Disease by utilising Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood. This regenerative therapy works by stimulating tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and improving blood flow to the penis, which may help alleviate symptoms such as curvature and discomfort. While results vary between individuals, many patients notice improvements in both the curvature and function of the penis within a few weeks, with optimal results typically achieved after a few months. The P-Shot is a safe, minimally invasive option that offers a promising solution for those seeking to address Peyronie’s Disease without surgery.

Read How I Improved My Lichen Sclerosus

Had a consultation with Elite yesterday, I must say I was a bit nervous, but Dr Shirin was so friendly and helpful.
I was given lots of advice and was given treatment options that were within my budget.
A few weeks after the P Shot I've really started to see a difference and have gained my confidence back.

Thank You!

Elite is an outstanding professional clinic with high standard treatments. All the staff members are friendly and offer you honest opinions when it comes to products and treatments. This is a welcoming clinic that I can 100% recommend. Treatments are spoken through and explained in detail, also aftercare. I have been going nearly a year now and am happy with all the treatments I’ve had, wouldn't go anywhere else. The Bocox treatment started to work within a few days, which I was surprised about. So glad I went to Elite for treatment.

Thank you Dr Shirin, the O Shot has really helped me with my Lichen Sclerosus. I'd heard about the treatment on the LS Facebook Groups and message a few people that had treatment with Dr Shirin. I was like many in the group who had run out of treatment options and using creams on a daily basis. I have to say a few months after treatment, I can see a real positive change and I'm hoping my LS will continue to improve. Dr Shirin did say that I might have to have a second treatment given how severe my case is.
