The Priapus Shot – Does It Work?
If you’re reading this then chances are you know what the Priapus Shot – or P-Shot – is. But for the sake of those that might not yet, let’s start at the beginning before we get to what outcomes you can expect from what’s been called the ‘miracle’ cure by many men.
What Is The Priapus Shot?
The Priapus Shot is an injection of your own cells that helps to promote tissue growth in your penis. While the idea of a needle into your most sensitive area might make you wince, it’s actually a painless procedure – so it’s worth considering the problems that the P-shot can solve.
1. Erectile Dysfunction
It used to be that erectile dysfunction or impotence was considered embarrassing or even shameful. But thanks to innovations in treatment, as well as a more open and truthful society, ED is a condition that is not only very treatable, it’s also one that men can speak freely to their GP or aesthetician about.
Erectile dysfunction affects over half the men in the UK at some stage in their life, and it can be caused by a variety of reasons. These include;
Health issues
ED can be a sign of health concerns, such as high cholesterol, blood pressure or diabetes.
Smoking
It’s thought that men who smoke are more likely to experience erectile dysfunction. It’s well documented that nicotine causes the narrowing of your blood vessels and limits the flow of blood throughout your body. Since blood flow is essential in getting and maintaining an erection, it impacts your ability to do this significantly.
Alcohol
Excessive drinking can affect your ability to become erect. Alcohol can disrupt messages to the brain, restrict blood flow to your penis, as well as lower your libido. The term ‘brewers droop’ was coined to refer to the syndrome.
It’s worth noting, however, that it’s prolonged and heavy alcohol drinking that can have this effect rather than social or occasional drinks.
2. Peyronie’s Disease (Bent Penis)
It’s thought that around 10% of men live with Peyronie’s disease in the UK. The condition is often the result of small penile injuries – the scar tissue that forms during the healing stage causes curvature of the penis. The curvature can range from being slightly uncomfortable or just aesthetically not pleasing to very painful with a significant impact on your sex life.
How Does The Priapus Shot Work?
So, now you know what the Priapus Shot can help with, you probably want to know how it works. Well, the key factor is actually contained within something you already have in your body – blood.
That’s right, your own blood holds the key. The P-Shot is made from PRP, which stands for platelet-rich plasma. This is harvested from your own blood cells, so as well as the incredible results, there’s very little risk of adverse reaction to the treatment.
PRP
The use of PRP is a form of regenerative therapy – the growth factors contained within the plasma help to stimulate cell renewal. It’s used extensively in both medicine and aesthetics to great effect. In the medical field, PRP has been used for more than 20 years to heal torn muscles, tendons, ligaments and is commonly used for sports injuries.
Here at Elite Aesthetics, we use PRP for a number of our treatments including the anti-ageing vampire facial, hair loss treatment and, for women, the O Shot.
To create your PRP a sample of your blood is drawn, much like in a blood test. That sample is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma in your blood. It’s this mix that gets to work helping to resolve the issues you are experiencing. The platelets work by stimulating the growth of healthy cells as well as releasing factors that seek out damaged cells and removes them.
If you suffer from erectile dysfunction, PRP focuses on regenerating your older cells leaving you with cells that are more receptive to the messages sent by the brain when you are aroused.
The PRP is injected in the areas that you need it most. Although the thought of an injection in such a delicate zone might make you break out in a cold sweat, every step is taken to ensure your comfort. A local anaesthetic will be applied so the injections are painless, and there should be no discomfort in the following days.
The effects of the Priapus Shot have been reported to last up to 12 months, but the best results are often seen with multiple treatments. During your initial consultation, you will be able to freely discuss your issues, what outcome you would like from the Priapus Shot and raise any concerns you may have.
Are There Any Priapus Shot Success Stories?
We have had many success stories from patients at Elite Aesthetics, with some finding the treatment resolves their issue in a life-changing way. Robert Schiewy is one of those people. Robert, an ex-soldier, was injured by shrapnel when the vehicle he was in went over a landmine. His penis was sliced, meaning he ended up losing about 2 inches in length. Although subsequent surgery helped to repair the damage, Rob was still self-conscious about the size he was left with.
After reading about the Priapus Shot, he contacted Elite Aesthetics and we were able to help to restore most of what was lost. You can read more about Rob’s story, as well as patient Jimmy’s, here.
There has also been press coverage of those that have had the P-Shot to be able to share their experiences. Ben Greenfield wrote a rather candid review of his encounter in Men’s Health, where he writes: ‘When I woke the next morning, apprehensive about whether I’d killed all my penis nerves or done lasting damage, I was pleasantly surprised to take a peek under the sheets…”
