Acne & Spots
Acne is a very common skin condition that most people are affected by at some point in their lives. Acne can appear on the face and body and is caused when the tiny holes on the surface of the skin (known as hair follicles) become blocked by dirt, oil and other impurities, which can then become infected by the normally harmless bacteria living on the surface of your skin. Acne is commonly caused by the increase in testosterone levels among both boys and girls during puberty, and can also be brought on by pregnancy and other hormonal changes, as well as certain medications or lifestyle habits. Sometimes, the cause of acne is unknown, and it can be genetic.
Acne Scarring
More severe cases of acne can cause permanent scarring. Scarring occurs when the skin in a certain area is broken and the body’s natural healing processes produce an excess of collagen to quickly heal the wound. Usually, over time this collagen is broken down by the body, but for more severe scarring this doesn’t happen. When more serious types of acne spots burst or rupture, it can impact on the surrounding area, creating small scars, often on the face.
Arm Fat
Arms are often one of the first places we notice the effects of ageing on the body, with a loss of muscle tone and increased skin laxity on the upper arms being very common as we get older.
Age Spots
Age spots are commonly caused by sun exposure, and are sometimes also known as sun spots or liver spots. age spots aren’t dangerous and don’t cause any health problems, but some people find them unsightly and may seek treatment for their appearance.
Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal fatigue can be caused by trauma or extended periods of stress, which may cause the adrenal gland to function below its normal level. this can lead to a wide variety of symptoms that leave you not feeling your best, such as headaches, fatigue, general body aches and pains, weight loss and generally not feeling your best.
Body Fat
Body fat can increase and decrease significantly over the course of our lives. However, even with a healthy lifestyle, diet and exercise, there may still be some pockets of fat that are hard to shift, no matter what.
Cellulite
Cellulite affects around 90% of women, and is a condition where the skin on the body becomes dimpled and has an ‘orange peel’ appearance. the exact cause of cellulite is unknown, though it predominantly affects women over men, and is believed to be due to the relationship between the layers of fat, skin and muscle in women’s bodies.
Crow’s Feet
Crow’s feet are a very common type of wrinkles which appear as horizontal lines at the outside corner of the eyes. by tightening the skin and freezing the muscles in the area we can reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and wrinkles around the eyes.
Dark Circles Under Eyes
Dark undereye circles are caused by the expansion of blood vessels beneath the thin skin under the eyes and swelling in the area. the appearance of dark circles can be made worse by a lack of sleep, dehydration and allergies, as these all cause blood vessels to dilate and swelling to occur under the eyes. as we age, the skin under our eyes thins, causing dark circles to become more visible.
Tear troughs also cause dark circles, and occur when the skin under the eye is actually tethered to the muscles and bone underneath, which naturally form a groove. this causes the skin and muscle to be pulled into the dip, which creates a depression and casts a dark shadow under the eye.
Double Chin
A double chin can be caused by a variety of things - genetics, face structure and shape, weight, posture and the ageing process, and, while harmless, can make you feel self conscious when smiling or laughing. in some cases a double chin can create a more aged appearance, making many people feel uncomfortable with how they look. the appearance of a double chin occurs as an extra layer of fat forms below the chin.
Dry Lips
Dry lips can be caused by a wide variety of factors, including dehydration, the weather, medication, diet, certain lip products, and the ageing process to name a few. dry lips are very common, but if you have consistently dry lips and topical products don’t seem to help, elite aesthetics offers several products and services to give hydration back to the lips.
Dry Skin
Dry skin is usually genetic, though in serious cases can be brought on by eczema or other skin conditions. for most people however, it is brought on by a variety of factors, including cold or dry weather, not drinking enough water, soaking in hot water, washing with harsh soaps or astringent skincare, including those containing alcohol, or a variety of other environmental factors.
Eczema
Eczema is a condition that causes the skin to become itchy, red, dry and cracked. it is most commonly a long-term condition, though it can improve over time. eczema commonly appears around the knees, elbows, neck, hands, cheeks and scalp, though it can appear all over the body.
erectile dysfunction, peyronie’s disease and insecurity about the size and appearance of the penis are all common concerns for men and their intimate health. at elite aesthetics, we can treat all of these conditions and help you regain your confidence.
Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is a condition that causes a person to sweat profusely, even when they aren’t hot or exercising. it can make many people feel very self conscious, and in more severe cases, can stop you from being able to carry out normal activities as you’d like to.
Eye Bags
Eye bags are the pockets of fat and loose skin that appear under the eye, casting a shadow beneath the eye, creating a similar appearance to dark circles and tear troughs.
Facial Volume Loss
Facial volume loss occurs as collagen production in the skin slows down, creating a sagging appearance and a loss of facial fat. this can exacerbate the appearance of fine lines and deeper skin folds as well as sagging around the jawline.
Forehead Lines
Forehead lines are the horizontal lines that appear on the forehead. they are caused by the skin folding and reducing in volume over time as the collagen which gives it volume and elasticity reduces.
Frown Lines
Frown lines are the small vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows when we frown or scowl. they can be caused by repeated movement in the area over time, which is exacerbated by the loss of collagen which comes with the ageing process.

Gummy Smile
A gummy smile is when the gums show more prominently when you laugh or smile. it can be caused by a naturally high smile line or overactivity by the upper lip elevator muscle, which causes the lip to lift higher, showing more of the gum tissue. we can treat a gummy smile by using anti-wrinkle injections to paralyse this muscle and prevent overactivity.
Hair Loss
Hair loss occurs in men and women, and can happen for many different reasons. lifestyle, other conditions, medication and the natural ageing process can all contribute to hair loss, which can make many sufferers feel self conscious.
Hand Sweating
Hand sweating is caused by hyperhidrosis, and is a common area for sufferers to have excessive sweat. hand sweat is particularly difficult to deal with, as it can make driving, typing, writing, cooking and many other activities very difficult, or even dangerous.
Hooded Eyelids
Heavy or hooded eyelids are an eye shape which is characterised by excess skin folding down from the brow bone to just above the lash line, obscuring the crease of the eye and the upper eye socket.
Headaches & Migraines
Headaches and migraines can be caused by many different factors, from dehydration to an underlying condition. some migraines can be caused by muscle tension in the neck or head, while others may be due to stress, anxiety, jet lag, allergies, bright lights, diet, changes in climate, types of medications and many other triggers.
Hormone Imbalance
Almost everyone will have some degree of hormonal imbalance during their life, but it can have negative effects if it is over an extended period, or a particularly significant imbalance. hormonal imbalances in the body may be caused by pregnancy or the menopause, but can also be affected by certain medications or underlying conditions.
Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is a usually harmless skin condition characterised by patches of skin that become darker than the surrounding skin. sun spots and age spots are examples of hyperpigmentation, though it can also occur for hormonal reasons, and is particularly common among pregnant women.
Intimate Health
Urinary incontinence is a common problem affecting hundreds of millions of people worldwide. incontinence can cause a loss of freedom and difficulty doing the things you love for many sufferers, and it comes in several different forms, including stress and urge incontinence, both of which we can treat at elite aesthetics.
Jowls
Jowls are the loose area of skin under the chin and around the neck. they are caused by volume and fat loss in the mid to lower face, as well as skin sagging around the chin and neck.
Keloid Scarring
Keloid scars are enlarged, raised scars that can appear after a small injury, such as acne, cuts or burns. often the keloid scar is much larger than the original wound, and can be red, pink, skin coloured or darker than the skin surrounding the scar. they are usually shinier than the surrounding skin, and are usually hairless. keloids often grow slowly after an injury, and can grow over time.
Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris is a skin condition which affects up to half the population. it is caused by a buildup of keratin in the hair follicles of the body, leading to a rough ‘chicken skin’ appearance. keratosis pilaris is especially common on the arms and legs.
Lack of Energy
A lack of energy that doesn’t go away even when you get enough sleep can be difficult to live with. often, fatigue is caused by habits and routines in your daily life, such as dietary habits, exercise, emotional distress, boredom or an underlying medical condition. by adding extra nutrients into your lifestyle, many cases of fatigue and a lack of energy can be resolved.
Large Pores
Pores are the hair follicles on the face, and can easily become blocked due to the oil they produce. this oil can mix with impurities on the skin’s surface, which can cause blackheads, whiteheads and skin congestion. the appearance of enlarged pores actually comes from the pores being blocked, and can also create uneven skin texture and tone.
Low Mood
A low mood can be caused by many different factors, including emotional stress, difficulty sleeping, a poor diet and lack of exercise, not getting enough sun or natural light or adrenal fatigue. everyone will experience fluctuations in their mood, and for cases of low mood, treatment is available at elite aesthetics to help balance hormones or add important vitamins and nutrients into the body.
Melasma
Melasma is a common skin condition characterised by the appearance of brown to grey-brown patches of skin, usually on the face, including the cheeks, bridge of the nose, forehead and chin. the definitive cause of melasma is unknown, but it is usually triggered by hormonal changes such as menopause, and is particularly common among pregnant women.
Milia
Milia, sometimes known as milk spots, are tiny keratin filled cysts that appear on the surface of the skin they are common in both children and adults, and appear as tiny, hard white spots on the skin’s surface, usually around the eye socket and eyelids.
Misshapen Nose
A misshapen nose is most commonly a genetic trait, and can be characterised by a bump in the nose, a hooked nose or a curved or otherwise non-straight nose. a misshapen nose can also be caused by an injury, including breaking the nose.
Muscle Tension
Muscle tension can be caused by many factors, including posture and repetitive strain, and can cause pain and loss of movement. muscle tension in the shoulders, jaw and neck can also cause headaches and migraines.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a condition that occurs when skin cell production is faster than in the general population. this results in dry, flaky, and irritated patches of skin on certain areas of the body, due to the overproduction and buildup of skin cells. psoriasis is especially common on the knees, elbows, scalp and lower back, and can be itchy, irritated and painful for sufferers.
Receding Chin
A receding chin occurs when the lower jaw is set further back than the upper jaw, and is known as retrogenia. this can create an undefined or ‘weak’ chin, and make the face look flatter and less defined.
Rosacea / Facial Redness
Rosacea is a common skin condition which primarily affect people with fairer skin tones, and causes intense redness in the skin, triggered by dilated blood vessels close to the skin’s surface. the causes of rosacea aren’t always known, but genetics, the immune system, and environmental factors may all play a part, as well as sun exposure, diet and alcohol consumption, which can cause rosacea ‘flare-ups’.
Sagging / Wrinkly Neck
Drooping of the skin and loss of volume around the chin and neck can lead to the appearance of a sagging or wrinkly neck, as well as the appearance of jowls. due to the drop in collagen production as we age, the skin around the chin, jaw and neck loses its elasticity and becomes looser and fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear.
Sagging Skin
Sagging skin occurs as collagen production in the skin slows down, which reduces the level of elasticity and natural lift the skin has. the skin then begins to droop and lose volume, creating the sagging appearance.
Scalp Sweating
Scalp sweating can be caused by several conditions, including thyroid conditions and medications, and can make hair look greasy and oily. it also means you have to wash your hair more often, which is bad for the scalp and the general health of your hair.
Scarring
Scarring can be caused by acne, or by other types of trauma to the skin. when we sustain an injury, collagen is produced in large quantities to quickly heal the wound and protect the body. however, this can leave unsightly marks and scarring in the area.
Sexual Rejuvenation
The options available to treat intimate health conditions are now more varied than ever. vaginal laxity, vaginal dryness, pain during sex (dysparenuia), difficulty reaching orgasm are all conditions we can treat at elite aesthetics.
Sweating
Excessive sweating can be caused by a variety of factors, including underlying medical conditions, or it may appear spontaneously. Excessive sweating can be uncomfortable and embarrassing for sufferers.
Short Eyelashes
Short eyelashes are a cause of insecurity for many people, and it’s not something we can do a lot about, even with makeup. eyelash extensions are impermanent, expensive and don’t always give you the natural looking results you'd like, so other treatments are available.
Skin Tags
Skin tags are small, skin coloured growths. they usually hang off the body and are most common around the chest, under the breasts, in the armpits or other areas where the skin often rubs together. they are completely harmless but can be unsightly and impact on your self confidence.
Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are long, thin, silvery or red looking marks that appear when the skin is stretched rapidly. this can be due to pregnancy or rapid weight gain, and are very common, especially on the stomach, arms, thighs, hips and buttocks.
Stubborn Fat
body fat, particularly excess fat, is primarily caused by lifestyle and diet. however, we are all genetically predisposed to have certain areas where fat is more stubborn to remove than others, even with a healthy lifestyle and lots of exercise. these can include:
• arm fat.
• back fat.
• belly fat.
• bra fat.
• inner thigh fat.
• knee fat.
• love handles.
• male breasts.
• outer thigh fat.
Teeth Grinding
Teeth grinding is often related to stress and anxiety, and commonly happens unconsciously. it can cause dental problems, pain in the face, neck and jaw, and headaches.
Thin Lips
Thin lips are often caused by genetics, though as we age the lips do tend to thin, due to a loss of collagen in the skin and lower face. thin lips can be a cause of insecurity for many people, and stop them from feeling their most beautiful.
this condition is very often genetic, and is prevalent among people of east asian descent, but can occur in people of any ethnicity. however, they can also be caused by the skin of the eyelid drooping with age.
Verrucas & Warts
Verrucas and warts are very common conditions, and affect most people at some point in their lives. most verrucas and warts are harmless and will go away on their own, but this may take months or even years, and can make you feel uncomfortable and insecure about your appearance. some nhs areas offer treatment to remove verrucas and warts, however this often takes a long time and isn’t available in many areas.
Weak Jawline
A weak jaw is characterised by a more flat and rounded appearance to the jawline. a weak jawline is often a genetic trait, and can be caused by the bone structure and the placement of fat deposits around the jaw.
Wrinkles
Wrinkles are an inevitable part of the ageing process, and happen to everyone over time. they are caused by the continued folding and movement of certain areas in the face combined with a loss of collagen, facial volume and skin elasticity as we age. however there are a wide variety of treatments available to reduce the impact of wrinkles on the face.
